Mrs. Kanakambikai Karunakaran

We regret to inform the passing of Mrs. Kanagambikai Karunakaran, a beloved resident formerly of Puthuroad, Karainagar (Jaffna) and lately of Kalubowila, Dehiwala (Colombo), who peacefully passed away on Saturday, 28th June 2025.

She was the cherished daughter of the late Mr. Kandaiyapillai Visvalingam and Mrs. Selvarani, and the loving daughter-in-law of the late Mr. Sivapprakasham and Mrs. Selvarani.

She was the beloved wife of Mr. Karunakaran (Proprietor – Swiss Link Communication), and a dear sister of Gnanagowri, Sivanandarajah, and Shanthi.

She was the sister-in-law of the late Chandrakumar, Manoharan, Yogeswaran, and Baskaran, as well as the late Varendran, Sabanadesan, and also Srilatha and Gajendran.

She was the sister of Arutchchelvi (Teacher – Kondavil) and the late Vijaya (Teacher – Bambalapitiya).

She was the loving aunt (chithi) of Sayandan and Sakana, the dear grandaunt (periyamma) of Naresh, Darnison, Kishalvan, Thesigan, and Sujivan, and a caring aunt (maami) of Nivedhya, Rasika, and Keerthi.

The remains of the late Mrs. Kanagambikai Karunakaran will be kept for final respects on Sunday, 29th June 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Jayaratne Florists, Borella.The funeral rites will take place on Monday, 30th June 2025 at 7:00 a.m., followed by cremation at 10:00 a.m. at the Borella General Cemetery.
